"I'm not entitled to anyone's business," Luke says. "I have to earn the right to work with my customers."

This philosophy shapes every interaction he has. Luke can invest months into building rapport with potential clients, learning about their unique needs and challenges, even before a single order is placed. He believes that being direct and honest is the key to building lasting rapport and establishing trust.


    “Don't beat around the bush. Be direct, be honest whether you can or can't do it. Being candid in my approach is key to building that trust. Then follow-up and follow-through, don't drop the ball” says Luke. Trust is everything, informing Luke’s interactions at every step with customers.

    “Clients respond well to people who are committed to their business goals” Luke believes, further stating, “If you need it, I will be there. This is one of the things that sets Allmach apart.     Downtime in industries like mining, agriculture, and food processing can be catastrophic, often costing companies hundreds of thousands of dollars per hour. Luke’s commitment to being there when it matters most has cemented his reputation as a trusted partner.

    He recalls a particularly high-stakes situation with a mining client in the remote northwest of Queensland. When a critical fitting for a diesel fuel pipe failed, operations came to a grinding halt. Facing enormous financial losses, the client called Allmach for help. Luke didn’t just coordinate a solution—he delivered it personally.

    “After we fabricated the fitting, I drove out to their site myself” Luke recounts. “It was in the middle of nowhere with no phone reception. Once I got through their security clearances and was on-site, we had the fitting replaced and their operations back online within hours.”

    This “mercy dash” as Luke laughingly calls it, was not inconsequential for the mining company and their operations. In a make-or-break high-stakes situation like this, the difference between standing by your commitment to the client and walking the walk can make or break a relationship.     When asked about how his work at Allmach differs from other industries he’s worked in, Luke sees the piping supply industry as an entirely distinct set of challenges. The piping industry, especially in remote areas like Queensland and the Northern Territory, presents unique challenges that other industries may not face. In many sectors, temporary fixes can buy some time, but in piping, especially when supplies are delayed or incorrect, the consequences are immediate and severe.

    For example, if a meat processing piping system fails and halts meat processing, the company can lose significant revenue. The stakes are incredibly high in this industry, where the cost of downtime can escalate rapidly. This is why Luke takes his relationships and commitments so seriously; it can make the difference between operations getting back on track quickly or suffering substantial financial losses.

    Balancing Work and Life


    While Luke pours his energy into his role, he values his downtime just as much. A self-described introvert outside of work, he recharges by spending time with family and reconnecting with nature. “My role takes a lot of energy and focus, so I make sure to look after myself to stay at my best,” he explains.
